4 October 2017 – Open Government in Morocco: Towards more effective citizen participation in public life

Inclusive public governance based on open government principles is essential for the development and implementation of more sustainable and effective public policies. It also enables greater responsiveness to the needs and expectations of citizens whose voices can often go unheard. Effective communication between citizens and governments is a key pillar in this regard. For the government, this entails developing and implementing a comprehensive and tailored institutional communication strategy. On the side of citizens, the willingness and capacity to engage can sometimes be challenging.
