The first brainstorming meeting of the OECD and National schools of public service and administration took place at the MENA-OECD Training Centre of Caserta on 19 September.
The meeting brought together representatives of government schools of public administration, in OECD, MENA and partner countries, academics and other stakeholders involved in building capacity of public administration around the world. The objectives of this meeting were focused on identifying challenges and trends that call for greater focus on learning and capacity building in the public sector; on exploring options for strengthening linkages between policy dialogue, policy advice, learning and capacity building, including enabling greater relevance and usefulness of OECD tools; on exploring options for further partnerships. The final discussion focused on the development of a road map for a strategic partnership between the OECD, training institutions and networks, including its functioning, objectives, outputs and next steps.
