16-17 May 2013 – Open Budget Data for Better Public Finance Management

Two workshops on “Open Budget Data for Better Public Finance Management” took place on 16 and 17 May 2013 in the MENA-OECD Centre of Caserta. Participants benefited from being exposed to best practices and in-depth discussions on fiscal transparency and multi-year budget programming.

The first workshop on fiscal transparency brought together high-level public officers form Tunisia, OECD experts and experts from the United Kingdom, Italy, Brazil, South Africa, and Australia. The workshop enabled Tunisia to participate in in-depth discussion with peers on the essential ingredients to a sound budget process and on the steps and best practices for bringing about fiscal transparency.

Following the workshop on fiscal transparency, a workshop on multi-year budget programming, took place in the MENA-OECD Centre of Caserta. This workshop allowed Tunisian high-level officers to discuss with their peers from the OECD and international experts on the use of multi-annual budget programming aimed at the fiscal performance improvement.
